Some General Troubleshooting tips

Why is Texture no longer available on Windows?

Texture is an all-access pass to the world's best magazines. To keep things working smoothly, older versions of the app sometimes need to be retired. As of June 30th, 2018, the Texture Windows app is no longer available. Texture will continue to be available on iPhone, iPad, Android phones, Android tablets and Fire HD tablets.

I tried to download several magazines over night, but the downloading process was interrupted. Why?

iPad®, iPhone®, iPod Touch®: It's possible that your tablet went into standby mode due to your battery setting at iPad, iPhone, iPod Touch Settings > Auto-Lock. Please try downloading again with the power supply plugged in and your Auto-Lock setting set to “Never”. Android™: It's possible that your device's power saving mode or a third-party task manager or battery app are preventing the Texture app from automatically downloading new issues. Make sure background data is enabled. Battery saver mode should be disabled. If you're using an app such as Greenify or Juice Defender, set the permissions to allow Texture to run in the background. Please try again with the power supply plugged in.

Android™: At times I find the Texture app appears to be crashing, what can I do?

On some tablets certain functions may cause the tablet to become less responsive, and the tablet may think the Texture app has stopped responding.  If you are prompted with "Application is not responding: Force Close or Wait" during use, please choose "Wait".  This will provide the tablet the required time to process all the requests and to launch the app and/or magazine.   To minimize these messages: - Download magazines fully before reading - Download one magazine at a time - Do not perform other tasks in other Android apps in the background, such as video streaming or downloading data

How do I know what version of Android I have?

Tap on the device's main Settings icon Tap on "About device" (or tablet or phone) Check the number under Android version Your device will display the version: - Android 3.1 and higher = Honeycomb - Android 4.0 = Ice Cream Sandwich - Android 4.1/4.2/4.3 = Jelly Bean - Android 4.4 = Kitkat - Android 5.0/5.1 = Lollipop The Texture app requires Android 4.0 and higher.

I can't see the latest magazine issue for a magazine I have placed in my library, why?

If you have already upgraded to the newest version of Texture and you are still not seeing the latest magazine releases in your library, please try the following: - Sign out and sign in to the Texture app, then try again. - Power the tablet off and back on. You will have to hold the power button for several seconds and then the tablet will ask you "Would you like to shut down?" > click OK. If you don't see this question, the tablet isn't truly off, it's just in sleep mode. Then try again. - Clear the application's memory and data (note: this will erase the downloaded magazine issues on the tablet and log you out). From your Android™ Applications Menu: Settings > Apps > Texture > Force Stop Tap Clear Cache [OK] Tap Clear Data [OK] Restart application and try again If the suggestions above do not help, please contact Customer Support.
