iPad®: Is there retina screen support?

Many of our most popular titles are available in "retina" resolution, and we are in the process of adding others. You'll continue to see more and more interactive magazines with retina quality in our catalog.

When I try to install Texture on my iOS 5 device, I get this message: "This application requires iOS 7.0 or later.", what should I do?

preworkaround Due to recent changes made by Apple, there are extra steps required for some older iOS devices that have not previously had the app:
  1. Download the Texture app from the iTunes Store on a Mac or PC using the same Apple ID you are using on your iOS device.
  2. The Texture app will then be associated with your account and you should then be offered the Texture app if you attempt to download the app again on the iOS device:

  1. Note: Do not try to install the copy downloaded in iTunes as it is the newer, incompatible version. That step is only necessary to attain ownership of the app. You will need to access the App Store using your iOS device to be offered a compatible version.

I can’t download the Texture app from the Apple iTunes® App Store when trying to upgrade, why?

This is due to a problem at the Apple Store. Please try the following steps: - Sign out of the App Store - If you already have the Texture app installed on your iPad® or iPhone®, delete the app (Note - you will remove all previously downloaded magazines) - Power the iPad or iPhone off and back on - Sign back into the App Store and then proceed to download the Texture Application

How do I manage my Texture subscription in Apple iTunes?

How do I redeem a subscription?

You will first need to turn off Automatic Renewal in iTunes. (For help doing this, please see https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT202039) Take note of the subscription end date. On this date, you will be able to redeem the gift subscription. Visit our gift redemption page: https://www.texture.ca/redeem Enter your gift code into the Redeem field. Click Redeem, then follow the steps to accept the Terms

I've subscribed through iTunes but the Texture app isn't allowing me to read magazines - why?

You can correct this problem by doing the following in the Texture app: 1. Open Settings 2. Tap "Restore Purchases" The app will then recognize your new subscription and allow you to read all magazines.

How do I purchase a subscription in-app?

1. Download the Texture App from the App Store. 2. Open the Texture App 3. Select Subscribe 4. Create an account. 5. Purchase Texture with your Apple ID. After doing so you will have successfully signed up for Texture.

Manage My Account

I tried to create a Texture account on the web site (www.texture.ca) and it won't allow me to use my email address.

If you previously created an account on www.texture.com (Texture US) and you're now trying to use the same email address for www.texture.ca (Texture Canada), you cannot use the same email address for both locations. Please use a different email address or call our customer care for help.

If I use the same account for multiple tablets, will my settings in one tablet affect settings in the other? For example, if I “remove all” magazines on one tablet, will the content be removed on my other device the next time I sync/log in?

Yes, magazine selections will sync across multiple devices. If you change selections to adjust the titles you display in your library on one device, using the same account on another device will also see these changes if you tap the "refresh" button or log out and back into the app. Please note that downloads do not sync across devices.

If I'm signed up with Texture in Canada, will my account work with the Texture Service in the US?

No, Texture Canada and Texture US are separate services. Your login for Texture Canada is not compatible with the US version app version(s) of Texture. However, using your Texture account when traveling is supported as long as you are logging in with your proper account information.

How do I delete just one issue from my device?

iPad®:
  • Tap "···" or press and hold on the cover of the issue, then choose Delete Issue"
iPhone® and iPod touch®:
  • swipe left and tap "···" or press and hold on the cover of the issue, then choose Delete Issue"
Android™:
  • Tap the circled 'x' under the issue you want to delete. Or, long press the issue until it's selected (blue framed), then tap the trash icon inthe top-right.

I tried to download several magazines over night, but the downloading process was interrupted. Why?

iPad®, iPhone®, iPod Touch®: It's possible that your tablet went into standby mode due to your battery setting at iPad, iPhone, iPod Touch Settings > Auto-Lock. Please try downloading again with the power supply plugged in and your Auto-Lock setting set to “Never”. Android™: It's possible that your device's power saving mode or a third-party task manager or battery app are preventing the Texture app from automatically downloading new issues. Make sure background data is enabled. Battery saver mode should be disabled. If you're using an app such as Greenify or Juice Defender, set the permissions to allow Texture to run in the background. Please try again with the power supply plugged in.

If I start downloading a magazine and then close the app, will the download continue?

iPad®, iPhone® and iPod touch®: The app must be open in the foreground to continue downloading. If it is not, the device's operating system may allow downloading to continue only for a few more minutes. Android™: If the app is running in the background, the magazines will continue to be downloaded. However, if you completely exit the app (using Android Settings > Apps > Force Stop), downloading will stop. To restart the download on a specific magazine, you will need to start the app again and select the magazine from your library to restart the download.

How do I free up space on my tablet taken up by the Texture app?

iPad®: You can reduce the storage allocated to Texture by tapping 'Settings' at the Texture app menu (lower right) > Storage > Use less space, Standard use (recommended), Use more space, and Use maximum space. You can also choose Usage > “Delete Issues”. Lastly, you can delete individual magazines by tapping "···" or pressing and holding the cover of the issue, then choosing "Delete Issue" iPhone® and iPod touch®: You can reduce the storage allocated to Texture by tapping 'Settings' at the Texture app menu (lower right) > Storage > Use less space, Standard use (recommended), Use more space, and Use maximum space. You can also choose Usage > “Delete Issues”. Lastly, you can delete individual magazines by swiping left and tapping "···" or pressing and holding the cover of the issue, then choosing "Delete Issue" Android™: You can reduce the storage allocated to Texture by tapping 'Settings' in the top navigation bar >  Maximum Storage > “Select maximum storage app can use” > 25% or 10%

How do I turn on/off email/tablet notifications of new issues?

iPad®, iPhone® and iPod touch®: In the Settings page, tap Notifications. then tap the slider icon to the right of Email and/or Push Notifications to turn on or off.   Android™: In the Settings page, tap the slider icon to the right of Email Notifications and/or Device Notifications to turn on or off.
