Windows® 8 & 10: Back issues of each title only go back to January 2013, while titles on iPad®, iPhone®, iPod Touch® and Android tablets go back further. Why?

The Windows 8 app was released in 2013, while the Android and iPad, iPhone, iPod Touch apps were released in 2012, which is why we only support issues from 2013 onward on Windows 8 & 10.

Windows® 8 & 10: How do I control the emails I receive, notifying me about new issues?

WINDOWS 8 DEVICES: Swipe from the right side of the screen and choose Settings > Notifications > Email Notifications (On/Off). WINDOWS 10 DEVICES: Tap or click the three-line icon in the upper-left corner to reveal the app menu > Settings > Notification

The app is compatible with a wide variety of Windows 8 & 10 devices, including tablets, Ultrabooks™, laptops and PCs.

How can I read my magazines offline?

You can read magazines offline by following these steps in advance, while you have an internet connection:
  • Sign into the Texture app
  • Download the magazines you want to read later:
  • For iPad® tap "···" or press and hold on the cover of the issue, then choose "Download Issue"
  • For iPhone® and iPod® touch, swipe left and tap "···" or press and hold on the cover of the issue, then choose "Download Issue"
  • For Android™, tap on the download button in the lower-right corner of the thumbnail image of the issue you wish to read offline
  • For Windows® 8 & 10, swipe down across a particular issues and choose "Save"
  • The magazine will then complete downloading and be permanently saved on your tablet, until you remove it.
  • Do not log out of the app
  • When you're offline go to the app to read the magazines you have downloaded

Windows® 8 & 10: How do I automatically download new magazines?​

Swipe down from the top of any magazine in your personal library to reveal the title management tools, then tap ‘Autoload New Issues’. If enabled, the app will automatically download the latest issue of the magazine, even when the app is not open. The device must be connected to Wi-Fi. When a magazine is downloaded, you can enjoy it without being connected to the Internet.  When an issue is fully downloaded, it will appear with a blue downloaded icon in the lower right corner.​

Does Texture support other versions of Windows than Windows 8?

There are no plans to support earlier versions of Windows such as Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, etc.

How do I ‘pin’ magazines to my Start screen (i.e. create shortcuts)?

In your personal library, swipe down from the top of any magazine to reveal title management tools, then tap 'Pin [Title] to Start'. The shortcut on your Start screen will now always show the latest issue cover of that magazine title.

How do I bring up the app bar, Section Wheel and Page Carousel using a keyboard and mouse or a touchscreen?

Using your mouse, simply right-click. Using a touchscreen, swipe from above or below the edge of the screen.

When I click on some links or interactive features within a magazine nothing happens. Why?

In some cases, interactive features within a magazine issue are not yet supported on Windows 8 & 10 devices. We'll continue to improve the app and hope to address this functionality in a future update.

What devices are supported by the Texture app?

iPad®, iPhone® and iPod touch®: The current version of Texture requires iOS version 7 and higher. Users with iOS version 5 and 6, will receive Version 3 of Texture. To find out which version of iOS you have, browse to your iPad, iPhone or iPod’s Settings > General > About > Version Android™: Texture supports Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) and higher on tablets 7"" or larger. Texture is compatible with most phones which run Android 4.0 and up. (Ice Cream Sandwich, Jelly Bean, Kitkat, Lollipop, Marshmallow) To find out which version of the Android OS you have, browse to Android Settings > About > Android version Amazon Kindle Fire™: Texture supports Kindle Fire running OS4 and OS5. Windows® 8 & 10: Texture supports a wide variety of Windows 8 and Windows 10 devices, including tablets, Ultrabooks™, laptops and PCs.

Can I bookmark, print or save a page or article?

iPad®, iPhone® and iPod touch®: 1. Browse to the page you would like to act upon 2. Tap anywhere on the page that doesn't have interactive elements (such as video, photo galleries and some ads) to view the top and bottom navigation bars. 3. Click the Share button (  ). From there you will have the option to Mail, Save Image or Print. 4. Click the Save button (  ). From there you can save the article for viewing later in a collection, such as "Read Later", "Recipes" or a new collection with a name you decide on. Android™, Windows® 8 & 10: These features are being considered for a future release.  Please check back for updates about new features and function.

Where can I get the Texture app?

Once you've signed up for a plan on the Texture website, visit the appropriate app store from your device to download the Texture app. Use the same log in you used to create your account online and start reading!
